Winemakers Notes
Our 2022 Righteous is a wine that was produced with the
Right Bank Bordeaux style in mind. This wine is a Merlot
dominant blend and showcases the rich elegance of one of
our favorite varietals.
The Merlot grapes are from the Hanson Ridge Vineyard
while the Cabernet Franc grapes were chosen from the
Steele Vineyard located north of Napa in Lake County.
Each of these vineyards is expertly farmed using
sustainable farming practices.
The grapes were fermented separately in small lots at cool
temperatures. This cooler method creates a longer
fermentation that accentuates the fruit flavors while
adding complexity. To avoid extraction of harsh tannins,
no pumps were used until after the wine was pressed off
the skins. The bins were hand-punched daily and gently
stirred.
Harvest Date: 9/28/2022 Cabernet Franc, the Merlot
10/12/2022.

Tasting Notes
The 2022 Wandering Cellars Righteous is a red blend that
boasts rich fruit flavors and a soft, smooth mouth feel with
lower tannins and acidity. It presents a powerful, beautiful
nose with delightful notes of vanilla and caramel. The wine
opens with an exotic blend of dark plum, black cherry,
black currant, and hints of herbs and warm spices. On the
palate, blackberries and cherries tease the senses before
unfolding into a broad, mouth-filling experience
characterized by soft tannings, elegance, and focused on
progression from start to the long, lingering finish.
This wine is balanced and can age gracefully for a decade,
though it can also be enjoyed now with decanting
recommended before drinking.
